Chakshire

Chakshire – Part of the male folk costume. They were made from Sura or White Clash, and somewhere from black. They were bailed with length to the ankles, and the lower part buried with lids. Around pockets and edges were decorated with black gates. Festive chakshires in the upper part were wider. Like some other elements of male costume, entered into use in the period of the Ottoman Empire, as the influence of the Ottoman culture of these areas. J. R.-P. Chalgi in Macedonia
