Tikvesh Lake

Tikvesh Lake – Artificial accumulation in the valley of Crna Reka. It was built near the village of drivers, 12 km from Kavadarci. The dam is earthly-bulk, with a clay core and a thrust stone. The length of the crown is 338 m, the width of 10 m, and the height 105 m. The maximum length of the lake is 28 km, and the greatest width of 700 m. At normal level, it covers an area of ​​2 of 14 km, and is the largest artificial accumulation in the Republic. In the accumulation pool average annually, about 3 475 million m water is accumulated, of which 3 360 million m is useful waters. It is used for irrigation of 23,975 ha of arable agricultural areas in the Tikvesh valley, for electricity generation, fishing, as well as sports and recreation.
