Separdi

Separdi – Jews from Spain, who, after the persecution of the Inquisition, were massaged across Europe, mainly on the territories under Ottoman rule, including in Macedonia. They integrated into the system (socially and economical) and in cities in Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Skopje, Bitola, Stip, Kratovo, Strumica, Ohrid, etc.) formed well-organized Jewish municipalities.
