Matov, Christ

Matovo, Hristo (Struga, 10. 1872 – Sofia, 10. ⅱ 1922) – Professor, revolutionary and one of the Idoologists of the MRO. He finished high school in Thessaloniki and Slavic philology of Sofia University. He was a professor and director in Sir and Skopje. He was a member of TMORO (1894). After the Thessaloniki Provana (January 1901), as a member of the TMORO, was convicted and conceived in Diyarbakir (Asia Minor). In the period 1902-1905 and 1907-1908 he was a border representative in Sofia. He participated in the work of the Rilent General Congress (1905), he was president of the Kyustendil Congress (1908). After the Young Turk Revolution, it was one of the organizers of the Union of Bulgarian Constitutional Clubs in Thessaloniki. During the First World War, along with Mr. Bizdomarov published in Skopje. “Romana”. After the First World War, it was withdrawn from political activity for health reasons. He is the author of several books with theoretical, revolutionary, philological and literary content. He successfully dealt with literary and scientific activity, announcing often their papers in the Bulgarian periodical under the pseudonym Drimkolov. It runs sharp polemics with Di-Mo Hadji Dimov, Gjorce Petrov and Jane Sandanski. In poetry leaves barely noticeable traces, although he had a creative nerve, but the revolutionary work is dedicated without residue. He is the author of a series of striking political essays, which reveals as an unsure national thinker. These texts often sign with the pseudonym Brutus. Items is his meeting with Trotsky in Sofia.
