Zurla -. Musical People’s brass instrument with two tabs of type of eye. According to different sizes, three types of Zurli were used in Macedonia: Kaba (largest), jarababa (medium) and Juri (smallest). It is commonly made from walnut wood, in two parts. The larger tube ends in a Macedonian zurla conical shape, with a total length of 600-630 mm, 480-540 mm and 250-280 mm. From the front there is seven melodic holes, and the eighth is behind the thumb, between the sixth and seventh hole. The lower cone part there are several openings, called messengers. The upper section called the Slavch is about three times smaller than the melodic tube. He draws on her throat so that his lower part, which ends in the form of two longitudinal leaf, from the inside reaches the second or third melodic opening. The upper part is a circular metal mixer with a tube on which a bilingual cup of cane is imprinted. Lit.: Dr. Aleksandar Linin, People’s Musical Instruments in Macedonia, Skopje, 1986, 106. F. M. F.
