Ecological Network in the Republic of Macedonia – Part of the European Ecological Network (PEEM – Pan-European Ecological Network; Penen – Pan EuroPan Ecology Netnj, Natura 2000). It stems from the Convention on Biological and Foreign Diversity (UN, 1992). It is based on the protection of natural habitats, flora and fauna, with the establishment of natural connections between them. Provides maintenance of biodiversity, protecting valuable and unique ecosystems or types, conserving natural aspects and storing vulnerable ecosystems or types above the critical level. It is a significant basis in the preparation of spatial, urban and other development plans. The Government of the Republic of Macedonia determines the environmental network and provides guidance for managing it. S. H. P.
