Georgiev, Cyril (Petrich, Pirin part of Macedonia, 1965) – Chess Grandmaster (1986) of Macedonian origin, with Bulgarian and Macedonian citizenship. He was a world champion for young chess players up to 20 years, threefold champion of the Republic of Bulgaria and the participant of 9 Olympics. He was Chen on the “BM Kisela Voda” from Skopje (2002-2003). Performing 5 years for the Republic of Macedonia on the first board of the European Chess Championship in Plovdiv (2001) won a bronze medal, was the seventh of the Olympics in Bled (2002), he won the fourth place in the European Individual Championship in Shallibi (Turkey, 2003) and qualified for The final part of the World Chess Championship in Tripoli (2004).
