GACO, Angel (village Sarakinovo, Vodenskin, 1765 – p. Atalanti, Greece, 1834) – One of the leaders of the untested uprising (ⅲ 1822). With a detachment of 500 rebels, he participated in the liberation of Neurs, and then in the attack on gr. Ber, along with Anastas Kara, with about 1,800 rebels (from 11. ⅲ 1822). It was traveling after neutical villages to organize them for defense, participated in the fighting for defense of Neurs (from 6 ⅳ 1822). When the overpowered eight forces rejoined the city, with the sons, the brother and part of the rebels crossed in Greece and took an active part in the Greek uprising (1821-1829). In the Greek instant army received an act general. By the end of life he remained in Greece, died in misery. Lit.: A.
