Todorovski, Dimo ​​(Thessaloniki, 12. 1907 – Skopje, 27. 1983) – Sculptor, artist, member of MANU, the founder of the contemporary Macedonian sculpture. He graduated from an art school with an academic course in Belgrade (1936). He was a participant in the NOB. Large retrospective was in Skopje (MoCA, 1980). He was processed by the social themes with a realistic approach and mild expressive modeling. In 1942 Turned a series of figurines inspired by the little man and the genre (Kemanzhad, rack, tobacco). He thought of parallel to historical compositions, but realized later (Miladinovci, 1945; refugees, 1951; St. Kliment Ohridski, 1967). In the meantime, he created the impressive realistic portrait mother of the artist (1947). At the beginning of the 50’s, the incidentally used ethnological motives, but was constantly occupied with the themes of the NOB. He also used the experiences of cubism, present in the monumental works (of Mechkin Kamen, 1968; the monument of the NOB in the Trade, 1972). In his emblem, Jama (1956) emphasizes the psychological component with the dramatic expressive placement of the figures. A similar approach was in the monument of the NOB in Dabnica (1972). Indicative are the works in which he combined the lyrical stylization and classical form (Andante, 1956; Ltd., 1979; Slider, 1982).
