“Tikvesh” – a hydro-meliorative system, built in 1970. It irrigates about 15,000 ha in the Kavadarcical, Negotian and Veles region. The main source of water is the accumulation “Tikvesh”, which provides 90 MI3 lions M water. The main (left and right) and the main irrigation channels in all three regions are 140.6 km long, separated and group channels have a total length of 55 km, and the length of the detailed network is 570 km. The bulk of the surface irrigation is gravitational, while irrigation of 19% of the total surface is carried out pumping water with three pump stations placed on the main channels. The main culture in the Tikvesh region are vineyards that are represented at about 50% of the surfaces. Other crops: fruit plantations, garden crops, industrial and fodder plants, corn and cereals, etc. The system is rehabilitated in the period from 1998 to 2006.
