Judo in Macedonia – a new sports discipline. The merit of Costa Ikonomovski (from 1962) was organized organized. Judo clubs were established in Skopje, Bitola, Veles, Prilep, etc. Judo Board (1966) was formed, so Judo Union of Macedonia (1972), then renamed Federation (2002). The first republic counters was held in Bitola (1967), and the best teams were “Vardar” and “Partizan ⅲ” from Skopje and “Partizan” from Bitola. The same year, the team of Macedonia successfully competed in the championship of Yugoslavia in Jundeva Maribor, in composition: Dimce Sokolovski, T. Lazarov, Sejdo Theophilovski and Atanas Kojevski. The Republican (1968), followed by the western Federal League (1969), in which JK “Vardar” from Skopje competed. Judo Federation of Macedonia was admitted to the European judo Union (1994) and the International Judo Federation (1996).
