Syropionians

Syropaonics (Syropaios) – Paione tribe that inhabited the territory of the left bank of the lower course of the r. Strimate. He mentions Herodotus in the work history (ⅴ c. BC). After Paionia’s Payion, on the orders of the Persian king Daray and, they were moved to Asia (511 BCE). Those who remain probably joined the wider Paionic community, because they are not mentioned separately. Exhibition: HEROOPS, HISTORIA, REC. C. Hood, Ed. Tertia, Odioni, 1927. Litt.: E.
