South East European University

South East European University – Tetovo (October 2001-) – private unitary institution with five faculties (Faculty of Faculty, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Public Administration, Faculty of Communication Sciences and Technology and Faculty of Pedagogical and Methodological Training) and two senior schools (Higher English language and High School of Information Technology). In the initiative of the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities for National Minorities for the establishment of the Foundation of International Donors for a new university in the Republic of Macedonia (spring of 2000). The initiative was based on the then Law on Higher Education of the Republic of Macedonia, which allowed the establishment of universities with non-state financing and lectures mainly in Albanian language. The Otunizer of Southeast Europe in Tetovo as the plan was made (late 2000), the construction (March 2001) and the opening ceremony was followed (October 2001) with 900 students. The beginning of the work was provided with donations of OSCE, EU and US countries. The university has two amphitheatre, about 50 other rooms (lecture and cabinets), two computer centers, library and room for housing accommodation of 450 students. The number of students increased at 2,250 (October 2002), 3,700 (October 2003) and then to 5,200 students. It is the first university on which the main subjects are taught in Albanian. The United States has helped the University and by providing three-year co-operation and supporting curriculum and the development of faculties by the Indiana University (2004/2005 – 2007/2008), elected competition. Students are obliged to study English, and election and French or German language. S. Ml.
