Orbini, Mavro (1563-1610 / 14) – Catholic monk and historian. The worldly name is Franjo, and the name Mavro takes him as a monk. The primary and secondary school ends them in Dubrovnik, and at the age of 15 he approaches the Benedictine monastery. His most significant work is the kingdom of the Slavs (Pesaro, 1601), which in one period was put into the index of banned books.
