Manchev, Tome (Gevgelija, 25. ⅳ 1950) – Composer. Graduated (1979) of the composition department Tome Manchev at the Faculty of Music in Skopje (prof. Vl. Nikolovski). It is acquired (1999) with the highest degree – Doctor of Musical Sciences, with the dissertation entitled “The Movement – an essential element in symphonic work” (published in Skopje, 2001). He is a full professor at FMU in Skopje. His opus includes works of almost all musical gender. Among the more significant works are: “Country of stone and sun” for mixed choir (1974), “Sanatorium Ballad”, for vocal and piano (1975), Sonata Lamentozo, for violin and piano (1988), Paganofony, for Bariton and a symphonic orchestra (1988), “intrada and caprico”, for soprano, clarinet, violin, cello and piano (1999), “song and tanec” for string orchestra (2000), “Exodus 2001” for Symphony Orchestra (2001 ) etc. B.
