Education – a common name for institutions, forms, content and activities, aimed at raising education and the general culture level of the adult population. The enlighten most often binds to the forms of adult education, as well as for the forms of cultural and artistic activities, intended for the wide folk layers. In Macedonia, in particular intensive activity in that plan, it appears after the liberation, gaining the character of massive fever. The most common forms and institutions of the people’s education are: the city library of the city library in Bitola Vospits (c. Illiteracy), public libraries and reading, evening and weekly schools, cultural homes, (c.) People and Workers, etc. National Enlightenment was also implemented through various cultural and educational, scientific, artistic and sports companies, clubs and associations. The first organized forms of folk trighting in Macedonia occur in ⅹⅰⅹ c., In the form of readings and weekly literacy schools and craft education. It is considered that the first reading site, within which the weekly literacy school was organized, was open in Prilep in the sixties of ⅹⅰⅹ c. Teacher associations also had a significant role in the spread of the educations. Among the two world wars, the most active educational institutions were the national universities. The network of public libraries was poorly developed with a strictly controlled book fund from the Ministry of Education. The most famous and largest library was the University Library at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, founded in 1922. After the liberation of public libraries, special attention is paid, so their number year after year has been constantly increasing.
