Brandes, Georg (Copenhagen, Denmark, 1842-1927) – a famous Danish literary historian, philosopher and literary critic. He is the author of several capital papers, whose issues are mostly literatures of European peoples, before the Central European and Scandinavian. The main work is “the main directions in the literature of the ⅹⅰⅹ century” (in six volumes, 1872-1890). It was long staying across several European countries (Germany, England, France, Italy). It is advocated for realistic and naturalistic literature, showing a totally engaged person, as an erudite with an artist style. He is a Europeanizer of Danish literature and culture. D. B.
