Baldoin ⅰ Flanders (1172 – 1205/6) – Count of Flanders and Anno, leader at the Cruisen campaign, Emperor of the Latin Empire (1204-1205 / 6). Guided successful wars against the Byzantines in Asia Minor. He tried to stifle the rebellion of the Byzantine nobility in Thrace, helped by the Bulgarians, but was defeated and captured by the Bulgarians in the Battle of Adrianopol (1205).
