Botiaya – Ancient area in the middle part of Macedonia between Pieria and Elimea to the south, Eordia in the west, Almopia in the north and Amfaxitida in the east. The lower course of Haliakmon (day. Bystrica) and PL. Vegnies of Bermion and Spider represent its natural boundaries. In ancient authors, it is most often mentioned as a separate area, as an area in which the first Macedonian king Perdiccas, according to prophecy, should the city – the capital of the Macedonian kings – Aiga; Here is the second capital Pella; gr. Benzo becomes the seat of the Roman Provincial Coin.
