Tobacco (Nitotiana Tabacum l.) – It is grown because of the leaves, which after drying, manipulation and fermentation serve as the basic raw material for the preparation of various tobacco products intended for enjoyment. It is consumed mostly by smoking (cigarettes, cigarillos, cigars, pipe tobacco, folding tobacco), and very little with sniffing (bormut) or chewing. It is enjoyed due to the physiological effect of alkaloid nicotine (CHH), but also on other SOS10 14 2 acids in the leaf, such as essential oils and resins. Today it is the most widespread legal agent with narcotic effect. Tobacco smoke contains a series of carcinogens and toxic substances that cause large number of diseases. In the past ten years in the world, tobacco is grown at 400,000 ha, with an average yield of 1.6 t / ha. In this, in the same period it is grown at about 20,000 ha or 3% of arable land, with a pro-cut yield of 1.2 T / ha, while the produced quantity of tobacco ranges between 15,000-30,000 t. As a manufacturer of oriental, fine and aromatic tobacco, the Republic of Macedonia is located in the rank of the first eight countries (with 3%). We hire about 40,000 households with nearly 200,000 members. If we add the figure of about 6,000 entities in the tobacco industry, its cultivation and processing has really vast social and economic significance for the country. P. Iv.
