Soros, George (Budapest, Hungary, 1930) – Investor, Philanthropist and philosopher. At the age of seventeen, he emigrated to England (1947), where he graduated from the prestigious plaster of London Szhole of Economic. Here he met the theory of open society of Philosopher Karl Per-Per and accepted her a permanent supporter. Later he moved to the United States (1956), where he founded the International Investment Fund “Lüngum Group”. Then the establishment of his first foundation – the Fund Open Society in New York (1979) and the First East European Foundation in Budapest (1984). Soon he became a kind of synonym for philanthropy in the world’s donation history. In the network of his open society foundations, 31 state of Central and Eastern Europe is included, from the former Soviet Union and Central Asia (Mongolia), as well as from South Africa, Haiti, Guatemala and the United States. Foundations aim to build and maintain infrastructure and institutions of an open society. And besides foundations, there are several other important institutions, such as the Central European University in Budapest and the International Foundation for Science. For that purpose since 1994 It was spent over $ 2 billion. He is the author of a number of published articles on political and economic changes in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. For his efforts to promote and support the open society, it is proclaimed an honorary doctor of science at Yale, Oxford, the new School of Social Research and the Economic University of Budapest, and is the winner of the highest honor at the University of Bologna-Beurean Honoris Casusa. His name is fear and trembling for financial markets around the world. He is one of the richest people.
